What Happens After I Push Checkout?

You might be wondering what happens with your pendant lights or lamp parts after you press the checkout button.  Well you aren’t alone!   There are many steps that happen between your order confirmation and it arriving on your door.

Each day we start at 8:00 in the morning by logging in to your shipping software and checking the orders for the day.  We often see orders from a single swag hook to a spider pendant and everywhere in between.  From there we make a game plan.  First, we tend to prioritize the smaller, quicker orders.  At least until the coffee kicks in.  These orders can be taken from opening the order to shipped off in less than a minute. 

Once we get through the small lamp part orders, we start working on the orders with the larger components.  These can be lampshades, bulbs, canopies, or any combination of those.  It can take a few more minutes to get these orders together because it involves a little bit more time spent carefully packing each order. 

Lastly by the late morning we can typically start working on the orders that require some building.  We have several different items listed on our website that come assembled so all you have to do is plug it or wire it to your junction box!  Each assembled item gets built by hand here in Memphis.  We have a small team here so there is a 2 in 3 chance that your order is built by someone named Andrew! We take extra care to make sure our workspaces are pristine so nothing could tarnish your newest lighting piece. 

After building we take it through several rounds of testing to make sure that when it arrives to you, everything is working just as you like it!  We then package up each order with care and some extra packing material and send it out to the door on its way to you!

If you are anything like me the second you see that email with the tracking number you check that link 4 or 5 times a day until you see it sitting on your doorstep.
