Modern lighting: how to increase your home’s value with lamps

Whether you have a property to sell or rent, the result is the same. A few well-chosen improvements can increase a property’s value with minimal expense. Among these, the smart use of lamps for modern, designer lighting. Here are two examples from a loyal Creative-Cables customer, a professional home stager.

The dozens of (hugely popular) TV shows on the topic prove it: a few well-targeted changes can completely transform a home, allowing those who want to sell or rent not only to close the deal quickly and with very few visits, but also to earn more by selling at a higher price than the corresponding market range.

Here are two examples of apartments in the Turin area (both about 50 sqm) illuminated with Creative-Cables products. Both were rented out on the first day of showings: not only did the lighting increase the value of the apartments, but modern lighting also helped give character to each room, making it possible to take impactful photos that immediately caught people’s attention.

Color stripes

In the first apartment, three features have gained character thanks to the intervention of the light designer. It’s impossible for anyone entering the home not to immediately notice the three-drop Spider and the unique ceiling design created with the bordeaux textile cord.

The need was to move the light from the center of the ceiling all the way to the table, and this was achieved with an alternative solution to the classic spider—by drawing three broken parallel lines with the cord, creating a true geometry of color.

The lampshades in canvas, personalized by the home stager, made the light in the room soft and perfectly directed onto the table.

The living room now has another area that has gained value thanks to the lighting. Here, the need was to decorate the wall above the sofa, a space that would have otherwise looked too empty, and in this way, a functional reading corner was created. Next to the sofa, a dimmer was added to adjust the light, making it suitable for reading or watching TV. Light bulbs with a metallic effect provide a soft, reflected glow.

Modern and ambient lighting in the bedroom too, thanks to the two UFOs decorated by Carolina Zuniga, which add a personal and romantic touch to either side of the bed. Neutral-toned UFOs at the foot of the bed help move the light from the center to the walls.

A truly Creative system

Lighting by Creative-Cables is the undisputed star of the second apartment, with the warm glow of the Spider with two drops and exposed light bulbs welcoming visitors right at the entrance.

Two-drop Spider is also a highlight in the living room, furnishing and lighting the space at the same time. Here too, the canvas lampshades by Creative-Cables were used in creations by the home stager in gray dibond, helping to soften the light and at the same time focus it on the table. Meanwhile, the two wide arcs of the cord decorate the surrounding area.

In this living room as well, the three-UFO lamp was used again, dimmable to help create the right atmosphere for any occasion. In this case, the two side UFOs were created in collaboration with illustrator Chiara Fucà, while the central one was crafted by mosaic artist Michela Nardin using plaster and white gold glass tiles from the historic Venetian glassworks Orsoni.

In the first bedroom, a jute Spider complements the warm wood tones, with three drops positioned by the wardrobe doors.

But it’s in the second bedroom that the cord truly draws attention. The historic "Linea" by Cavandoli carries power from the wall outlet to the desk, illuminated by a Spostaluce.
