The Cavallerizza Reale in Turin is increasingly becoming a hub for art and creativity with Paratissima, which is expanding its activities and extending into another wing of the complex. Over 10,000 square meters of exhibition space now includes the Artillery and the Mosca Wing Courtyard. The EIVA Outdoor IP65 system lights up the outdoor spaces.
The new space dedicated to cultural projects, activities, and events opened its doors on June 23, 2022, with an inauguration—dedicated to the memory of Francesco Convertini—featuring the Ephemera exhibition and installations by Daniel González, Anonima Luci, and Katatonic Silentio.
Absolute simplicity and extreme consistency are the foundation of the lighting system designed by Guido Parenzan to “enhance the space, preserving the essential character and refinement of this place with its eighteenth-century connections, and its elegant sequence of arches and vaults.” This space will later host a wide range of art installations.
Over 200 meters of textile cord, 27 sockets, and 19 T-joints, all strictly patented for outdoor use, were used in the project, which is divided into three areas. Along the entire central axis of the portico, which is over 5 meters high, the jute textile cord descends in line with the arch of each vault, blending in with the wall.
Twelve fabric-covered cables, each two meters long, run down and end with the EIVA socket in mustard color and porcelain-effect light bulbs. For a result that’s impactful, yet functional and delicate at the same time.
Seven pendants were placed along the perimeter of the porch to illuminate the courtyard, which is also equipped for the bar area. Mustard-colored EIVA sockets were paired with high-brightness light bulbs.
The entrance to the exhibit was enhanced by the Cage chandelier with eight drops. Red textile cord, EIVA Elegant socket and smokey G125 light bulbs with curved filament, to both illuminate and highlight the space.
